The urban land-use plan developed by planquadrat for the housing development "Beim Mönchenberge“ forms a new urban district between the districts of Zwätzen and Löbstedt. The conceptual design intends to structure the new residential area into four individual quarters. Each quarter forms its own independent building ensemble that clusters around an individually designed and jointly used green courtyard. This courtyard structure enables creating a personal address for all quarters, whose private character is paramount. In this way a high-quality living situation is designed for all residential units.
Terracing in several plateaus is necessary through the great height difference on the site of the planned area. This terracing enables the residents and visitors from each building a unique view into the protected landscape area "Mittleres Saaletal“.
Besides the residential use a commercial use is planned on the ground floor in the area along Naumburger Straße. These small-scale business units on hand here serves first and foremost the best possible local supply of the area and the direct vicinity.
