Offshore port Mitte

The competition task states planning the four part-plots on the offshore port of Offenbach with residential and commercial buildings. The commercial use on the banks of the Main in the northern part of the competition area will thereby be arranged in such a way that an effect is created to block off commercial noise. The residential part of the building comprises along with two tower blocks a total of four angled residential buildings. With a total of 166 residential units, the complex opens up to the south-west facing the harbour. The three-storey, free passages in the apartments create the visual reference between the public space and the quarter courtyards. All apartments have a view overlooking the harbour basin thanks to the shape of the building. As an unusual residential offer, we suggest emphasising the special quality and the identity of the location with "Floating Homes“ in the harbour basis. 

The contribution of planquadrat together with Krieger+Schramm was able to confidently assert itself and was awarded the 1st prize.
